BORED.

Its Wednesday evening and I am astonishingly bored. Almost as bored as a Lakers fan is pissed off after watching the mighty Cavs dethrone the Lakeshow without their King James. As a predominately neutral NBA fan, (go Sonics)  I haven't decided whether I should be happy for the Cavs or sad for the Lakers. Regardless of tonight's outcome, tonight does not matter. Cleveland won't win more than 25 games this year, and the Lakers SHOULD be a top 4 seed in the west come playoff time.
On the Ducks side of things, the Men's basketball Civil War matchup is this Saturday. In what is the Duck's only nationally broadcast game of the year outside of the PAC-10 tourney, Oregon 13-12 (6-7), and Oregon State 9-15 (4-9) battle in perhaps the most mediocre nationally televised Oregon sporting event in a while.

Still not too worried on the fact that I am a Journalism major; we played Rockband today in class. How our professor managed to relate it back to media and our society beats me. Props to that guy. (Should probably know his name, but I don't....)

Technical Glitches, Comebacks, and Sucka Punches

DA PAPER IS DOONEEE! 13 pages of agony completed in only 4 days! (Quite the feat for someone as easily distracted as me..)
First off, sorry about the link, the English Premier League has pretty much removed every video on Rooney's brilliance that was his goal this Saturday. What a shame! Even Sir Alex Ferguson noted the goal as the best he had ever seen at Old Trafford. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/players/wayne-rooney/8321275/Wayne-Rooneys-goal-the-best-I-have-ever-seen-says-Manchester-United-manager-Sir-Alex-Ferguson.html

In 17 appearances this year for Manchester United in EPL play, he has only found the back of de ol' onion bag 5 times. For any other striker, these numbers are not dismal, but for the man who had 26 goals in 32 matches in the 2009-2010 season, it has been a bit of a let down for Red Devil fans worldwide. A cause for concern? Most likely not. Many, including I, think this goal is just the confidence boost he needs to get back to his old ways.

But enough soccer already. How bout a real man's game? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S9mCL5JiDc
Nothing says (North) America like a brawl on ice. Now I wouldn't say I am a religious NHL fan, but I know enough to be both elated and disgusted by this game that happened Friday night. On one hand, who doesn't like hockey fights, yet alone sucker punches (the first fight on the video) and goalie fights? On the other, this seems a bit over the top. The NHL dished out 2 suspensions and a $100,000 fine to the Islanders. I personally think it should have been a much heftier boom lowered by the League. Professional players should be able to be mature enough and professional enough to determine when enough is enough. Sending a message to either your team or the opponents is understandable, and should absolutely be tolerated. However, the flat out brawl that took place was absurd.

Enough ranting, time for some NBA 2k11 and food before a long, long week ahead of me.  Later.

Well Hey There

Hello all, so instead of working on my History 381 paper, I have decided to create a blog. Yep, jumpin on the band-wagon. After these few days of midterms, I will actually put some work  (and even thought...) into some posts. For now, you'll have to wait. I'm sure the anticipation is just killing you.
While I'm discussing political instability in Latin America in the 1840's, watch this:

Is Rooney back?
